Okay, did anyone catch the BET music awards last night. If not, don't fret, I'm sure it will be replayed a few times.
They gave Whitney Houston and lifetime achievement award. I guess it an achievement to still be with that crazy *** Bobby Brown.
Whitney's voice is not there, too many Kool's and Newport's it seems. However, I guess our voices do change, mine has gotten deeper in the last few years. However, you could tell she was trying to hit the high notes in I Will Always Love You. She even tried to build to a climax at the end of her song and had to give the mike over to Shakira (sp).
She always stands by her man, it's seems she kept trying to get him up on stage.
The rest of the show was a disappointment. Musiq Souchild did win an award. But I'm still tripping that Jill Scott and Erykah Badu were both beat out by Mary J Blige. (what the ****, Jill should have gotten that one.)
I'm not a big Jay-Z fan, but I still think Nelly or Ja Rule should have gotten the best rap artist award.
It's also too bad that this turned out to the the BET 1st Annual "Rap" Music Awards.
There were only about two performances that weren't hip hop or rap.
And we wonder why our music is being "stolen" by white folx. ****, we are giving it away. Where are the jazz, blues, R & B artists?
