Over the past ten years, there has been an increase in violence between coaches, players and parents. There was even an incident where one of the coaches actually broke his player's nose and a coach killing a parent over a dispute of unequal opportunity for playing. I plan to go to college to play softball, but is feeling very discouraed because of this situation. So, my title of this-- "Think of the athletes first"-- really does have a meaning to it. Where has the fun of playing went? What actually determines what it is that a player should and shouldn't do to play? How should the parents and coaches talk to each other? Is it really the athlete's fault?
