Hello Family,
Many of you have expressed your concern for our teenagers losing their ability to interact here, due to the "Premium Membership" cost. You have gone so far as to offer to pay the cost for them. You know this is beautiful, exactly what a true and loving community does. Thank You.
Unfortunately, i don't believe it's the best way for us to handle this. We must encourage our youth to do the right thing, whether here or away, and accepting "gifts" from people on the Internet (or anywhere) is not the right thing for them to do ... unless of course you have their parent's complete permission.
While many of us have grown relaxed and comfortable with each other, we are still on the Internet, and anyone could spend a few weeks or months to gain the confidence of our teenagers ... only to violate it later. We should make sure our children understand the importance of this lesson, and begin instilling it in them now, right here at home.
Actually, it would be my hope that our teenagers would graciously thank you for the kind offer, but decline to accept it.
At the same time, i understand the desire to have our teenagers here with us. Therefore, i've decided to take the burden off of each of you (the elders) and promise that our teenagers will not be locked out. While i am not giving them "Premium Membership," status, they will still have the ability to post their poetry, opinions, etc., on the forum, and take part in our online classes and voice chat discussions, at no cost, as a "Regular Member."
I'm sure you all realize that i could have easily gone along with you all paying for them, it would certainly mean more money to help maintain our costs ... but money is not everything. If we are going to be here, let us do all things in the best of manners. We have examples to set and i thought this would be a perfect opportunity to do just that.
Of course, if you have any questions, you may post them here.
Much Love and Peace.
