View Full Version : Black Men : What would you do?

Captain Ray
04-09-2004, 04:50 PM
What would you do for your kid?

Would you do anything?

Would you work in a job that you don't like that much? Would you go to church even if you have to work Sunday afternoon? Would you work an extra job to pay for an after school program? Would you really do anything? Would you move to a better environment?

I can honestly say that I love my child more than I love myself. Hell, that's not much of a litmus test, I don't love myself all that much... but I love her! There are times when I don't want to be that good of a person.. but I would never want her to know that... would I do anything?

I will.

Deep question Captain Ray.

Yes, I would do anything for my daughter. I would like to think that most parents would be willing to do anything for their children's best interest. If any parents could honestly say that they aren't willing to sacrifice for their kids....then they probably shouldn't have had them.

I would give my rugrat, snotnosed bill, an I-9 and a W-2 and tell him to make his own money.

This is the reasonw why I do not have and will never have them expensive things yall call kids.

She can get a divorce then, because I am not having them. I replace women like business folks replace workers all the time. So it will not be a problem getting another good woman who does not want children.

Manasia, ...
I want you to stop what you're doing , right now...and go to the corner :nono: ...and when you come out, I got this for ya :smash:

you're very funny manaisa...but you're also...very real, and that's what makes you so special. I love your "frankness" ...and you're one of the few, that ...calls a spade, a "spade".

I agree with panafrica when he said that was a deep question, which requires a deep answer.
Hi Captain Ray, pleased to meet you  ...and welcome to "home away from home"..
Well ray, I like what you said, and in as much as I like what you said...I don't like what you said. (what did I just say? ) let me repeat what you stated above.

(quote)
RAY: I can honesty say that I love my child more than I love myself.

but in reality, here's what confuses me, ...HOW...can you pull something out of yourself to give someone...that's not in you? surely you've heard that 'charity begins at home (meaning self) If you don't love you, how can you love something outside of yourself? now the bottom line is this, I believe that you do love yourself, and you just expressed how much you love her by useing yourself. And if what you said is true (about not loving yourself all that much) then you should correct that like...yesterday. And here's why,
(this was a old song that held much meaning)
"the whole world is a stage, and everybody's playing a part" ....and the bottom line to the song is: "you forgot your make-up, and at last, I saw the real you" ...now that was very deep....
what happens the day you forget your make-up? and your daughter see's the real you? (the you that don't really love yourself that much). okay, one more example: let's say, you didn't have a job, and she needed $50. (love), you can't give it to her (love), because you don't have a JOB! (self-love).
I hope this wasn't to confusing to you and that I only intend to let you see how one thing can effect the other.
just food for thought...I have nothing but mad respect for you...for loving your child...she is your future...guide her well...
...by loving self...
