ok family what is a Diva and who is a diva and how did they become a diva

I never really understood that word either.

I've always seen the word "diva" used in reference to a woman or drag queen who is highly respected and viewed as the best or among the best in a class of artists, i.e., opera, ballet (ummm, no, that's prima donna), singer, female impersonator, etc.

Is everyone who calls themselves a Diva, truly a Diva? Also can one classify themselves as a Diva, or do they need the recognition of others to gain Diva statis? I ask this, because I have seen some women call themselves Divas, who I felt were dillusional. :nono: Clarify please!!

:book: I thought a diva was a divine (woman)... :o but when I heard RuPaul being refered to as being a diva... :eek: I was in shock and was :eeek:confused from then on...so I don't know...smh :help:
