Lookin at the world through child's eyes
accepting everything at face value
never questioning what lies beyond

Looking at the world through teenage eyes
challenging everything that comes my way
cuz ain't gonna be no more of that
just acceptin & retainin
never learnin...not no more
so until i find out for myself
i'll study and research until i can prove it sure

and search so much on my own
i'll realize that no one can hide truth

Looking at the world through adult eyes
dismissing everything that seem useless right now
cuz i gotta make space for what really matters
being too busy to look into anything on a critical level
cuz i'm pulled in to many directions
i need to get my priorities straight
One day my adult eyes will open fully
and i will see for the first time that
i can relax and give my brain a while to rest
cuz it sure as hell needs it... not to mention my body

Looking at the world through elder eyes
understanding all that i didn't for so much of my life
finally becomin wise; not acceptin no more of their tricks
no longer arguing until the answer is mine...
no longer running around content that i knew what i did not
and putting stuff before my knowlegdge,
so much that i became my own stumbling block

I will shed the rose shaded aura that been built around me
and see the world in truth
