Now what I’m sayin

Everybody
Looking for something
Everybody crave something
What is it exactly?
Practically who’ll back me
Like im searching for a cure in life like acne
Do poets search for words, rhythm, rhyme, truth schemes?
Does a ghetto child or a struggling middle class live thru dreams

Everybody looking for errors in ways
Thugs liked the way the gage is sprayed
A gambler likes the way the money is laid
Never stop till he paid or broke
He has no hope, I find in many men the truth is far from spoke
Some black are ******* who look to lie to they kids
Its where you at but don’t forget what you use to live
Like church forget how they used to live, never testify
Life is a lie, blessing preachers for a pie in the sky
Mentality this is what rattle me
How could you say u love me, but you wanna battle me?
My own kind takes the lines out my lines
Drawing a thin line between what I can take on grind
Hugging the block, trying to make a half a million
Bops catching feelings, no degree but he knows dealing
Tell me is a fat kid really unhealthy
When his moms feeds him like she’s wealthy
If he gets teased and turns to low self-esteem
How does he close the seam, does he turn to cream
Does he cut, splice, drink with slice or sniff
Light a spiff, or get consumed in books, what’s the diff
Is he a outcast, does he turn shy
Where do his morals lie, where does his soul
What’s his spiritual state, is he unaware
That he’s handsome, not ll, but similar to lips, no hair
Does he become a fat …., u know what
A lard, claiming he’s a victim, lets shift him

Back to the streets, where problems blossom
My bad the block is playing possum
Cuz the home is the source of infinite sin
A sip of gin, is the end, the end of friends
If you base life on ends, you missing value
What’s more important is life’s inner value
Don’t mind the money, need it to survive
In a world lies, where Saddam caught in disguise
The money talked and told the troops
Black power exist in men that shoot hoops
But can’t shoot, cross it back over to days when u scramble to buy a soda
Athletes ain’t done much to invest and take the hood back over
Instead they burbin too, charity is hypocritical
To get loans and funding, team owners need public access, its pivotal
Can we move as a people, can we build a dream?
Or will we continue to scheme
These words I just wrote to nas street dreams
Gave me dreams, all eyes on teens with a dream
Education is important in election time
Less funding for underprivileged, is it time
To rebel, for panthers in jail?
Or yell cuz it’s less of us in Yale?
We hit the historically black, cuz we wasn’t good enough
To break down “better universities”
Because diversity, means power is lost
This instead of chrome I floss
A black boy lost
Why boys, cuz men are natural leaders, and we behind

A black boy lost
At what cost will we pay to rebuild him
I got a half a million…….
