well I'm glad she's getting some recognition....That's my girl and we've been fighting for about two years to get her some status....some!!! She does write music...she just wrote a song for Joe and she's and Michelle Williams (another I Stater)....Keep supporting her please!!!

That may be true choas considering all the songs you heard on radio were written by R. Kelly. She writes all of her songs. She also writes songs for others including Joe and Michelle Williams (of Destiny's Child)...get the albums, you'll peep her talent for what it is. She is signed to Jive as a singer/songwriter. The songs on radio are to get her noticed of course, but it hasn't done much because I still had to post this question. :spin:

Well I'm glad you've been turned on to her. Her father is blues singer Syl Johnson, so that's where her knowledge of music comes from. Anyway, I will ask her about the underground thing, but of course she's on JIve records where they're pushing out all the big names....R. Kelly, Brittany Spears, N'Sync, Justin Timerlake....she is the only female of her genre on the label other than Nivea. I don't know..she's gifted beyond belief and I'm not just saying that cause I love her...I believe it...I would like for her to be recognized globally. She can handle it. :) :)

i bought , what i believe, her first album "love hangover"...i could hear the voice...i was torn between the next two albums...will get one, should i get the last one...open to suugestions...

Oh wow, you bought the first first one. Ok, that's fine to. She was about a year or two out of high school...if that. She wrote most of that album. I suggest you get Chapter 2: The Voice. You can feel the maturity, but don't get me wrong..Chapter 1: love, pain and forgiveness will take you there too. Go buy Chapter 2 since it's the most current...you'll love it.

I'm going to have to look into getting her album to see what everyone is talking about.

thanks i will pick up the latest one...i like first albums tho...the artists energy maybe rawer but it is usully so alive...like feeling and seeing the glow of the diamond before it gets all polished and for looking at...
