WOW !!!! We had a GREAT BOOK CHAT last night !!! :jumping:

Thank You Sister BlueWater for reading chapter one of Manchild In The Promised Land by Claude Brown !!!!

WOW !!! This is only our 2nd month, our 2nd book and we are feeling our way, learning how best to hold our Book Chats and last night was the VERY BEST YET !!! Thank You Sister BlueWater !!!! Not everyone had the book but they came to support the chat anyway, so Sister BlueWater agreed to just read the first chapter ... man oh man oh man ... that was soooo good ... it's got me thinking that we should read a little bit of every book during our chats ... we then discussed just the first chapter of the book ... the discussion went on for at least an hour. This book was published in 1965 yet all of the things the family was dealing with ... Black Families deal with today! ... it's amazing, sad, disheartening ... this was our very best book chat yet ... again ... a special thanks to our Sister BlueWater !!!
