… A woman's Place

A woman's place is in the poem
expressed in couplets rare, for
only a poet will ever find her there.

but it's not a poem if no one "opens
it and turns the key … oh, she'll there"
for some of us to see.

All of Time was written within her
and her body was encased in verse.
Her wisdom and her beauty could not
have been rehearsed.

She's in the poem - unless the poem
Lives -- inside -- of her, then the lyrics &
stanzas will be her walk, you'll smell
gardenias when she talks.

Flowers will bust from her bosom and
callalilies from her castle's floor, she will
speak of roses & baby's breath and
her veil will be the door

She needs to be in the poem,
Not by your side, or in the house
for birthing the next generation,
but spoken eloquently by mouths
who know that she's been taken …

Taken from … the bottle of maple syrup;
pulled off the box of pancakes; and torn
from the covers of Elle and videos that
degrade her for the sheer sexual sell

Taken off … the trophy case and the stares
of lustful eyes, her place is forever
book-marked by the ribbons of her thighs

…. and it's a poem

very nice Spisces!!!

this almost sounds like our very own "Hunter"
i don't know if you've read any of her work
but you may wanna do a search .... very very nice

i want to apologize for this getting added to the forum
in such an untimely manner ... it was somehow placed in
a queue waiting for approval. while no peaces are done
that way here (moderated prior to inclusion) this one and
a couple of others were ... i was told it happened because
you may have started to add a poll to this peace but did
not complete the second page of the poll ... so it was placed
in a queue ... my apologies.

Thanks for this beautiful peace!

for this awesome work, Mr. S. ..allow me to flow with just one aspect of your piece; a single thought you have inspired...

if a woman's place is in the poem
it's because a man wrote
the words upon her heart

even when the rhythm skips
a beat along their road
the twain shall never part

so if a woman's heart lives
in the poem, then
he is by her side....

and even in the valley
of the shadows of death
the POEM shall forever abide...

Thank you. This is a classic!

Remarkably Beautiful

I truly enjoyed this unique poem. The metaphors are rich and stroke ever so gently the depths of my soul. Oh how I love this poem.

Loving thoughts that are deeply etched in the mind becomes etched onto paper to live on for an eternity. Beautiful concept, lovingly executed.
