View Full Version : Sports : Kobe Bryant Charged
$$RICH$$ 07-18-2003, 06:44 PM Bryant charged friday with sexually assaulting a 19 yr.old
woman in a case bound to tarnish the career of one of NBA's
brightest superstars
he could face up to 4 years to life if convicted !
on this single charge of assault
Eagle county district attorney say Bryant used physical force and caused sexual penetration or intrusion on the woman
he immediately claim his innocence , but say he did make a mistake of adultery he say nothing happen on June 30th
on the woman that was against her will now she falsely accuses
me of such charge ......
also his wife back him in support stating he's no criminal....
can this truely be the end of a star on the rise?
and how will it damper this career & family in whole ?
the answers yet known
but Kobe Bryant will be back in court Aug 6, 2003 to face
these charges up against him...
$$RICH$$ 07-21-2003, 03:35 AM surely what you speak on would be a nice topic in open forum
my point is ..........as stated about a young man accused of
such act and how would it affect this family & career
not all this ploice / mayor / military issues
and surely there are millions that know who Kobe Bryant is !
he's one of NBA brightest stars
but i do feel u and indeed i know the issues we face daily in our
continue struggle
so my point is again ! as stated above ......
$$RICH$$ 07-21-2003, 10:05 PM point well taken .....thanks for your enlightment to our men and
struggles we face but this was a sports question only ?
i will open a thread in the open forum on this issue...
$$RICH$$ 07-23-2003, 04:01 AM point well taken .
rmstkd 07-23-2003, 11:21 PM I have never been a Kobe Bryant fan and for this to happen to someone like him is not a surprise. Other than the fact that he has $$$, he hasn't done anything that an ordinary man hasn't done. He said it was consensual and she said it wasn't. Well, it's his word against hers. I believe that "some" people will only let you see one side of them and, of course, that's the good side.
I wonder why so many people are so shocked by the news. How are athletes any different from musicians? When you're in the spot light, there will be fans that want a piece of you.
If everyone could remember Magic Johnson admitting to having HIV (darn wonder how he got that) a lot of people felt bad for the guy. Hmmm, who was feeling bad for his wife? What about Mike Tyson convicted of rape and spending time in prison. Even, the beloved Michael Jordan has been known to stray too. On and on the list goes.
Athletes, entertainers and even politicans have committed crimes and only got a little tap for it. Sometimes the media and a lot of fan place these people on pedestal and then become shocked when they are bad.
Like I've stated on another thread about this same issue...for a lot men, the only thing that's bigger than their penis, is their ego. What can be more fulfilling for a man than to have lots of women to boost his ego, regardless if he has a loving woman at home?
I have no respect for any man or woman who cheats on their spouse. It just tells me that the vows that were taken meant nothing.
I don't know if he's quilty or not, but if he is, I hope he pays dearly for it to send a message to these "stars" that they are not above the law. If not quilty, good for him. Hope his wife can truly forgive him and not worry too much when he's on the road whether he's screwing another woman. What a life to live.
$$RICH$$ 07-24-2003, 01:17 PM welcome to destee.com sports corner rmstkd
yes so true it's no surprise our men in the lime light
has done what is displayed here for years
just another one caught up in the bliss of his american cheating
ways .......indeed if he did his career is over and he should pay
if he didn't his career is still hampered by the facts of it
the truth will come out openly and like you said look at other
sport figures like magic/tyson/jordan/and many others
the real betrayal lay at home on the wife's of these men
and for any man that step out side his home and in acts of
adultery.
we have now become known for these actions
just so few is caught in the act of it
I too hope this turn out in good for both sides but it hardly ever do
i have to agree with you in totally
thanks for sharing your thoughts and words of wisdom upon us
Regina 07-25-2003, 06:11 PM Most of the athletes are not in love with their wives. Most often it is more like a business deal, her trophy wife looks and his money. The wives are more like a possession to the men to show off their success level. They also want to improve the looks of any offspring they sire by selecting the most beautiful of women. Most of the wives wouldn't look twice at those men if they didn't have money. And a lot of the wives schemed to get the men.
The rumor going around when Kobe married Vanessa was her grandparents, who raised her, threatened to have him arrested for statutory rape if he didn't marry her.
Look at a lot of the celebrity wives and wives of athletes, many of them were pregnant before they finally got the wedding band...
Here's a partial list of the men of those men...
Keenan Ivory Wayans
Michael Jordan
Shaquille O'Neal
Eddie Murphy
Juanita Vanoy (Jordan) filed a paternity suit against Michael Jordan in 1988, that is why he married her.
Just as the men should be responsible, so should the women...
Some of the women had multiple children before the guy married them.
$$RICH$$ 07-25-2003, 08:41 PM Regina ............yes ur so right i totally agree
there was many that was wedd out of some kind of actional
agreement made and in whole heart i see many not truely
loving there mate
and yes as these men need to be more careful of what they do
sitting in the lime light also the women should too most know
what they face going in knowing this top sport figure is not going to stop with them i think this what makes many feel cheated and
they send a act of getting even
Kobe did say he did wrong and wow! the facts u pose of his wife
grandparents forcing them to bond is not true love so why not
accept the facts that he would cross the line to carry out adultery
thank you for sharing this
Abisha 07-26-2003, 01:41 PM Does anyone have any links to websites that give out the name of the girl? Or her Pic??
$$RICH$$ 07-26-2003, 04:45 PM no sistah Abisha.......... just know she was a worker at the hotel
as an maid and she was 19 yrs of age and white but if we learn
of such surely we can add it to this thread but right now the answer is no , may not see who she is until the trail date or in court if live cross air waves ...
Abisha 07-27-2003, 11:02 AM I heard in the morning news that there was a host on the radio waves that gave away the girls address, height weight, and her name because it was all public information. I thought maybe someone else may have caught it. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Regina 07-27-2003, 07:56 PM This site has pics this week...they are making a lot of the websites take the pics off...
http://www.binaryreport.com/kobe/
Abisha 07-28-2003, 10:02 PM This whole mess is very sad, thank you for the link and the information that the link provides.
$$RICH$$ 08-03-2003, 01:41 AM true indeed we need to start now ......here inside of B.O.P
black on purpose we pose to stand up and start doing something to impower our youth so when they make it to the pro level of stardom they can reach back and sho we can be all we are in the
sports arena's
WILL THEY ALLOW THE COURT ORDER SEAL RECORDS TO BE OPEN
TO THE WORLD ????
$$RICH$$ 08-03-2003, 07:44 PM this all so true and yes we do have many young african americans who try to make or reach this level in the sports world
yes we can teach our youth to be more and better while in arena's...........it has a lot to do with our youth these are the one's
going to pro level and it's not about having sex but when it's define as RAPE !!! sex no longer at play
i agree with you a lot
but simply saying we need to start with our youth to man hood or woman hood what ever way they go be the best at it .....
and to some sports not just an entertainer but da love for the game now i agree why with a few of those millions they can't
reach back into the struggl of their own hood and help feed the hunger and clothe the bare and shelter the homeless sure they
all move out and into those big houses.....this where we need
to show them , teach them to reach back !!!! and this reality
their are few who care less of Kobe Bryant and the actions taken
but still he's one of our very own who is being down played to the world for his actions or part in this sexual mix .....we should
care
$$RICH$$ 08-05-2003, 01:27 PM why do we continue to bash our own ,this could happen to anyone not just Kobe .........it's not that he allow him self to be
placed in this position and it was a freedom of choice he made
This why we need to teach our youth
so we don't have too see this or hear of such action
but know that we made a different for better
our total struggle revolves around misguided directional myth
inside our african culture this been our biggest struggle
that is support for our brutha or sistah
and the teaching of our struggle if we reach these young teens
in time they would know their direction surely Kobe Bryant
has a battle to face ........this goes for all our african males
it's time for BROTHERHOOD and UNITE in UNITY .
$$RICH$$ 08-06-2003, 04:16 AM i agree it's wrong and yes we should teach the youth not
even put self in this then their will be no excuses to make
if we start now .....point well made..........but now that our
brutha has gotten him self into a mess we should try to be
their for him spiritually as a whole
just another bump to display some of our struggles today
that is the foolishness some make from not being guided
Thank u for all your imput and facts
Abisha 08-13-2003, 01:45 PM You have a thread dedicated to downing women, is Kobe a Mookie? If he is it looks like Mookie got in trouble this time. However , we should stand by him Mookie or not he is ours and we should love him still.
Abisha 08-13-2003, 09:07 PM I have to admit Kobe has a little Mookie in him and he is more of a harlot because she did not cheat on anyone, he cheated she was not married therefore she is innocent in that respect.
Regina 08-14-2003, 11:47 AM Kobe was wrong for having sex with the woman but that doesn't mean she is being truthful. He is getting dogged out because he slept with a white woman but that may be all he is guilty of. You don't know the kind of relationship he has with his wife. That could be all fluff for the media and everyone. The word on the street is Kobe only married Vanessa because her family was going to charge him with statutory rape.
Women lie, and they lie well. So, don't put it all on the man...
$$RICH$$ 10-21-2003, 05:02 AM so true Kobe is being bash and sistah Rosetta seem to not like the young man or a man basher This is one of our bruthas falling
under the whip of a white woman......he may be wrong for going outside his marrage having sex but truely this woman is not all truth and honesty again i hope he come out on top but he will be
labled the rest of his pro career......and Kobe as of monday will
stand trail for RAPE !
Abisha 10-21-2003, 06:49 AM Kemestry has a thread about relationships and he has explained who Mookie is to to him to every member of this site, upon request. From his definition I have learned that a Mookie is a black man that unzips his pants to all kinds of women and has no basic training in commitment to anyone. Thanks for your reply Rosetta, no offense but this is America and I am not restricted on my opinions, even if I did mention Mookie from a movie as a fictious character and mix him with real people I have the rights to do so, just because your opinion states differently, it does not mean it is truth. He** my statements are not all truth either, I am just enjoying my freedom as an American citizen and I will speak what I want and I hope you do the same. When it is your turn to give your opinion I won't judge you, if you wish to judge me that is your life.
If anyone cares to answer who is Mookie in Spike Lee's Movie? I never knew there was a Mookie in Spike Lee's Movie. That may explain where Kemestry got that weird name.

When a person is married it is thier duty to be faithful to thier spouse, about the rest of this sh*t that is a different case all together. Evidence does not point that he has raped her and I believe he is innocent in that respect.
$$RICH$$ 10-21-2003, 10:55 AM I totally agree he was wrong for the acts of sex contact
but i have to believe he is innocent as far as rape !!!
i can't see that he would just grap her neck and bend her over a chair and rape after saying no twice he stop !
something wrong right there but it was enough to make him stand trial now ........the truth will be known soon !
