Can someone give me a working definition for a diva!!!? I was brought up to believe a diva was a woman (an older more seasoned woman) who has gone through A WHOLE LOT to get to where she is. Whether that be going through several marriages or being hooked on drugs or alcohol and still making it out alive!!!

Somebody help me!!!!
Ashanti, a diva?? NO WAY
Brandy, a diva?? NO WAY
J.Lo, a diva??? NO WAY
Debby Cox, a diva??? HOW DID YOU GET HERE?? NO WAY!!!

and many others like her .....
but these new young stars haven't reached the Diva stat yet

yes i do ...........one can't call self a Diva until one been
down the path of a Diva where as in coming years one
must taste the hardship cross da path of pain feel the
boot and still continue to stardom then one can be of a
Diva ......these so Diva's yet to make the face chart.....

We should be careful how we use the word Diva...because many of these young artist are getting there heads pumped up. Especially when someone puts them on VH1 Diva's Live and call them something they're not
