Hello All -

I had to leave for Alabama because my mother passed away suddenly. So the past three weeks, I've been away and spent extra time helping my sisters settle my mother's affairs to keep my father from having to handle everything.

I am just beginning to slow down and feel. But I don't know what to feel or how to. It's like the past few weeks have been a dream or something that didn't happen. I can't say the 'd' word. So, I've been saying that my mother 'passed away' or she 'succumbed to a heart attack'. This is the first loss my family has experienced since my grandmother passed away 40 years ago. But my mother watched all 13 of her children grow up and have families of our own.

Well...anyway....................................

Just a word of advice from one who has dealt with the death of a parent, try to keep a clear head and don't make any hasty decisions.

Also, stay strong for your Dad who has lost his life partner...
