Destee 02-12-2003, 10:36 PM Were you one of the 27.1 million viewers watching our Brother?
Do you think he'll really air his own version of that video!?
Michael Jackson Vows To Air His Own Video (http://launch.yahoo.com/read/news.asp?contentID=212208)
Michael Jackson has vowed to air his own video, which he says will expose Life With Michael Jackson interviewer Martin Bashir as a hypocrite. In a statement released to the press on Sunday (February 9), Jackson and his publicist described the footage shot by the singer's own cameraman during the eight-month documentary shoot as "show(ing) extraordinary scenes of Martin Bashir praising the way Michael treats children and commenting on how good a father he is.

What is up with our Brother?! :(

j'hiah 02-13-2003, 10:37 AM Micheal is as psychologically normal as the next man. He has problems (Who doesn't). They are a whole bunch of leeches (media, Martin Bashir) on his nizzuts. l feel like he's just a different individual. Nobody was hatin' when thriller came out and you had the glove and red jacket and the curl doing the moonwalk in the mirror :D
$$RICH$$ 02-15-2003, 07:12 PM our brother has many problems at hand with all the hype about
his children and the secret of his life he pose this man is no
different then the next .... just a bit confused
j'h is right nobody hated when he was thrilling , moonwalking , hollin' beat it !
it's become more then a myth today for many media , press. all
dem others who silently roam him for a break through
Mr.Jackson need to come out the darkness and into da light....
he's confused in many ways
what he is not what we wanna be
what he become is more then he can handle
happy69 02-17-2003, 01:00 PM I agree that he has problems... I agree that he was used... but MJ is not my brother... he has never really wanted to be my brother; and now that the majority is doing to him, what they do to so many--- he is my brother; I think not.
Micheal Jackson, like so many in the African-American community; when they feel that they have "assumed" a certain level of economic or social acceptance... they forget from whence they came; and certainly those they are akin to...
Micheal has gone so far as to try to make himself a white person; because as far as I am concerned; he is no man - and something that Af-Ams should shield their kids from; especially black males...
my brother does not try to make himself white; my brother (whatever his socio-economic status) forget that I am here or help in destroying my existence; my brother does not go out and pay for white kids to call his own; and my brother surely doesn't use problems, like racism, that I have to live with and fight every day to tear down the barriers... to bolster his own agenda.

Hey Happy ... good to be reading you again, welcome back. :)
I couldn't disagree with you more. My brothers have done many things, including all you say Michael has done. Some have done much worse, killing, stealing, other forms of self hate manifesting itself in their lives ... but they are still my Brothers. The same holds true for my Sisters. No matter where life takes her, she is still my Sister. I don't think we can afford to throw any away, regardless of how hopeless they appear. Many are suffering the effects of self-hate to some degree or another, manifesting itself in a variety of different ways ... Michael's came out like this. He's still my Brother.

happy69 02-18-2003, 01:36 AM I stand by my contention Destee... We, in the African-American community have to stop being the shoulders to cry on for everyone in this society when it hits the fan for them; It is like a mantra... "catching hell, go get some black folk!"
Even if I felt a small shred of sympathy for MJ; and I don't, I still could not call him my brother... he is not a man!
If White America takes him back into their fold; he'll be back to his normal self; or rather "abnormal" self...
I love my people, and I am willing to take the good with the bad... even when the bad sometimes seem to overwhelm... but my love comes with a price tag, and that is reciprosity (sp. ?)...
We have given it so much to others, we don't know how to give it to ourselves or each other.... well, I want/ do / and will continue to give it.... but damnit, it is no longer for free, or to be spent in places where I ain't gettin' none... and Never Never Land, ain't where I'm looking for it either...
Peace Sister (hope that is okay); and thanks for the welcome back.
$$RICH$$ 02-18-2003, 02:00 AM sir Jackson need to understand that the right help is
out their and indeed he feel the change but by that
art of his own request he's our brutha but far off base
lost in da ulgly sad life he been down roads many of
our children before us and after gone through
the greatest love is lovin one self which he lack in for self hate
the man is moonwalking in his own pitty
he need to check self and be whom he is.....
j'hiah 02-18-2003, 11:09 AM happy69, understand 2 things.
How could you reform him by not first accepting him as your brother?
Some of our peeps catch madd drama (O.J, M.J, J.J :D ) and then decide to run back to their community. Good!
l see it as a chance for reform, reminder, etc....
If God penalized and turned away from you for your actions as you have done Micheal Jackson, you wouldn't like it.
Look at how the man (he is a man by the way) grew up and have more understanding about the roots of his problems instead of neglect.
happy69 02-18-2003, 02:20 PM J-
that is just it, I am not trying to reform him... he has to reform himself... there is no excuse for anyone in the Af-Am community, past the age of 12, who does not have an understanding of life; and how it is for us. And please, try to get what I mean...
There are things that I do not believe will ever change. I do not believe that White America will ever get rid of their sense of entitlement (aka manifest destiny); and superiority... or that we will ever be rid of racism.... and I think that it is a waste of time to try and make them understand my feelings about these kinds of things, etc... as well, I feel that people like O.J. and M.J. (J.J. ?); will never understand either; No, I take that back... they choose to live their lives; they don't seem to mind getting kicked over and over and over, it seems; as long as the "right" people are doing the kicking... they don't seem to get it... and for men in their 50's and 40's; "black" men, that is a shame.
What are the roots of his problem J?
And please, that bs about his nose being big? If every Af-Am who have been teased about their big nose started hating themselves and deforming their beauty... can you just imagine that!
My father had a big nose, and was down right beautiful. My sister has full full lips, and she is beautiful.
They get reminded over and over, J; O.J. got the biggest wake-up of them all, and he still running around crying after White women... and no, I'm not saying that a black person cannot fall in love with a person of another race, or anything like that; I am not concerned about what goes on in the bedrooms of consenting adults; I'm just saying when are you going to wake-up?
I am not God, I was made in his image; he made me a human, and in so he created the concepts of redemption, forgiveness... I do not have to act as God. I will not.
As long as our community allows itself to be the doormat to all who use us, we will not progress... do I need to break some of our "current history" down for you in this manner J.
We are still allowing ourselves to be for use-- that is slavery.
No man carries himself like a woman, and talk like a child... no black man bleaches himself, and relaxes his hair to turn into a white woman--- and J, just in case, I have worked in hospitals and doctor's offices for many years, and many many Af-Ams suffer from Vitalgo (sp?) or what our folks call "spots" and I know for a fact that ; the disease of losing pigmentation has never and will never progress at the rate it did on him (LOL)... what he discovered that he had it, and within a year his whole body was white!
No brother of mine; nor black man I know.... would sleep with small children!!!
michael is in denial. his entire life consist of a life that is surrealistic. "common sense" tells u that grown men don't sleep with boys. period. all this I love the children jive is of the devil and he needs a reality check , a couple days in the pen might do him some good.......
poeticdelight 02-18-2003, 08:05 PM could we please talk about some real issues?
:thanks:
jusme 03-02-2003, 06:15 PM Martin Bashir wasn't at a neutral standpoint in that interview, but indeed Michael is troubled. His pop made him work as a kid and now he ain't gotta work so he's living the childhood he only had a part of or a portion of as a kid. That's what most people would love to have, an everlasting childhood, on earth anyway. Don't hate on him, that man truly, truly needs love.
Nightlance 03-04-2003, 10:48 PM :angel:In the case of Michael Jackson, the media and society in large appear to be suffering from a classic case of psychological Fascination-Repulsion. Because Michael is such a large cash windfall for the tabloids and news channels that print or air specials on him, they have become fascinated with his market appeal. As you know, his graceful movements onstage once mesmerized our society, and the electric soulful rhythm characterized by his trademark spin, leg kick, and moonwalk were both awe inspiring and unique. The pattern or flow of sound created by his songs was both hypnotic and unmistakably Michael. No matter what anyone presently thinks about his psychological state of mind, no one can deny that he forever changed American music.
However, the same Michael that once mesmerized us now repulses us. Many are repulsed by the rumors of his behavior with children. We are repulsed by the accusations about his sexuality, and the treatment by his abusive father. Some are repulsed by his childlike mannerisms, and his inability to grow up. To say the least, we are repulsed by his chameleon like ability to change both his color and facial structure in an attempt to gain acceptance by the very group that finds him repulsive. :bomb:
As I see it, Michael is a great entertainer whose star is starting to fade with the color of his skin, and I pray that he can adapt to fact that his glory days are behind him, but parenthood is in front of him.
Best of Luck Michael,
Nightlance
A former fan.

Aaliyahmonet 11-20-2003, 01:09 PM Destee, i just want to thank u for posting this very important topic about Michael Jackson up. I loved Michael since i was 7 years old, and nothing is going to change that. I agree what everybody else is saying, he's a normal human being. He's just trying to fit in and blend in with the young brothas and sistas out here today. I understand what he's going through, and i believe that its just that the critics are after his money.
Again Destee Thanks So Much.:):):):)
Luv,
AM
uzoka 11-20-2003, 03:21 PM The funny thing about Micheal Jackson and others like him, is that while they strive to resemble whites, they cannot see that whites are striving to look like us.
Neand...I mean whites work overtime to convince us that our women are ugly and that their women are the standard by which all claims to beauty shall be judged but white women pump their lips with collagen in a futile attempt imitate the buoyant fullness inherent to black women, instead, ending up looking as though suffering from a case of hives, then they go and smear oil over their sickly blue skins so as to fry themselves on a beach or under a tanning bed to get a tan that literally pales into insignificance when compared to the God given deep rich and various shades of brown of our women, and they willingly do this at the risk of skin cancer.
Now some white women have started using buttock and thigh implants in order to resemble black women in that regard.
And don't believe that trash about the pale one's alledged skin condition.
If you notice at his recent anniversary concert, he kept covering his top lip as the heat from the stage lights began to melt his make up.
The few times he took his hand away from his mouth, you could see fairly dark skin above his top lip but under his paper thin nose compared to the rest of face, resulting from his hands wiping off the make up there.
The guy wants so badly to be white, he looks like a harlequin, I wonder if he let's his pets lick his face?
Khasm13 11-20-2003, 03:35 PM jacko is a basket case...
with all that loot
he should have gotten some serious mental help...if he did molest that bwoy....i hope he gets what's come'n to him...
peace

Phenomenal Flow 11-20-2003, 04:11 PM I definitely agree with Happy69. I stop believing Michael Jackson was my brother years ago when he turned his back on his Black skin and people.
Mr. Jackson has forgotten it was because of Black peple that he became world famous. He has forgotten his roots. He has forgotten his true fan base. Strangely enough Mr. Jackson can disregard the people and genre that made him famous, yet adore and embrace the very same people who are trying to destroy him.
If this case goes to trial and Mr. Jackson is acquitted, I certainly hope he doesn't exploit Black people for support after the fact as O.J. did when he paraded himself around Black churches. This is an insult and should be recognized as one.
Sorry Mr. Jackson but you're own your own.
Hesaid 11-23-2003, 06:45 AM Micheal Jackson is a waste of time,I think collectively we spend way too
much time trying to defend and figure him out, I dont give a beep beep about
him for a number of resons, one being it was people like us who were so
happy to support this BLACKMANs climb to the top and become the biggest pop entertainer in the world only to change color ????????
secondly, when losing popularity he looked back to use his old trusty black community for a beautiful Video "remember the time" only to go and Marry
a white woman. I see no difference between him and Bush, shoo, they both
Kick us when theyre up and use us when we're down. I think its way past time
for us to let it go and get on with concerning ourselves with real sisters/brothers who care for our love, that goes for Halle Berry too.
All useless Hypocrites.
