Sister Sweet Funk
I wonder if you've met a girl like the one I used to know.
She used to hang out at Nay Nay's house 'round the corner by the candy store.
She was known for her aroma.
See in other words she stunk.
Neighbors and friends alike used to call her Sister Sweet Funk
Her hair was short but she wore a weave that had not been washed in a while.
There were flakes of gel and dandruff around her homemade tuck in style.
Her unbrushed teeth were yellow with 2 gold caps in the top.
When she held up her arms to wave hello, cars in traffic she would stop.
She wore nice clothes from different stores unlaundered though they were.
Stains were found on everything; even her fake mink fur.
Ashy gray was the color of her knees and her rough elbows.
Her feet were ashy too; with toes polished the color she chose.
Now one day I spoke to the Sister,
And gave her a word of advice.
I thought I should tell her the truth,
Because deep down inside she was nice.
I said girl you need a shower with lots of soap and lather.
Follow it with deodorant; antiperspirant--brand doesn't matter.
Put lotion on your arms and legs and if that doesn't give you a sheen;
Use an old folks' remedy;
Just plain old vaseline
Wash your clothes before you wear,
Iron out wrinkles if you care.
Its perfectly ok to hit the fashion scene;
But it's much, much more important to keep your body clean.
