The Rookie stepped up to the plate in his first Major League Baseball game. The first pitch he got was at belt-buckle level.....
STRIKE ONE
Ooooh, the Rookie got mad. He pounded the bat on the plate, kicked up some dirt and dug in. The next pitch was another one right down the middle...
STRIKE TWO
Ooooh, the Rookie got REAL mad. He jumped up and down. He kicked dirt on the catcher and the umpire. He pounded the bat on the plate even harder. The next pitch...another fastball....
STRIKE THREE
Frustrated, the Rookie just threw his bat up into the air. The umpire watched the bat go up, and gave the Rookie some advice.
"Son," said the umpire, softly, "when that bat comes down...you're out of the game!"
